50 Star US Inc.
US giant Walmart plans to build or renovate more than 150 locations in the US during the next five years.
These programs, which represent a capital investment of millions of dollars in labor, supplies, and tax income, benefit the communities in which they are implemented.
Tens of thousands of jobs will be generated by this effort to help the retailer fulfill its goal of rebuilding 650 outlets throughout 47 states and Puerto Rico in the upcoming 12 months.
The first two new stores under this plan, both local markets, are scheduled to open later this spring in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, and Atlanta, Georgia, according to John Furner, President and CEO of Walmart US. In addition, we're finishing up the designs for the twelve new projects we want to begin this year and turning one of our smaller sites into a Walmart supercenter.
The program will also be designed with sustainability in mind, utilizing energy-efficient lighting and equipment, lower impact refrigerants, and more.
Walmart is also developing a network of affordably priced fast-charging stations for electric vehicles from coast to coast, according to the company's website. This would make it easier and more simple for Walmart employees and customers to own EVs.
These recently built and remodeled sites will make it simpler to meet and exceed customers' expectations whether they are dealing with a store, their website or one of their mobile apps.
