24 hours prior to the designated ship's scheduled departure from the port, exporters or shipping corporations may carry ready-made clothing into the port yard. There used to be a requirement that all loading or shipment had to be finished 48 hours in advance.

Following a meeting with a BGMEA delegation, the Chittagong Port Authority made this choice to allow for the shipping of all consignments having an export focus.

According to the Chittagong Port Authority's circular, this "cut of time" for ships has only been loosened in the case of export containers for goods made of ready-made clothing since the BGMEA's application.

Additionally, in some circumstances, port administrations have permitted RMG export containers to be loaded up to six hours prior to the vessel departing the port. This choice will have an impact from October 1 to February 29, 2024.

The private inland container depot of Chittagong receives all goods transported through the port of Chittagong from various regions of the nation. Following their loading into the container, these items are transported, in accordance with the ship's timetable, to the port yard's hook point, from which the container is picked up.

A deadline is established to ensure that no export cargo is left on the ship as it leaves the port. Many times, there is a delay in loading the cargo at the Chittagong inland depot due to a lack of containers or other issues.

The container would then be missed by the ship when it arrived at the port late. The possibility of missing shipments of RMG items will be significantly decreased by lowering the "cut off time."
