By working with the Trust Protocol, Macy's hopes to revolutionize the transparency of their supply chain while supporting the cotton industry's efforts to make beneficial social and environmental changes. In keeping with its commitment, Macy's sources both US and Protocol Cotton that is grown and harvested only on the farms of Trust Protocol farmers.
The Protocol Consumption Management Solution, which provides accountability and transparency of every Protocol cotton bale as it moves through the supply chain, is what makes this effort stand out.
The fact that Macy's has combined its environmental initiatives with the social purpose platform "Mission Every One" shows how committed the company is to a more sustainable and fair future. This collaboration aims to help create a society where environmentally conscious actions benefit all stakeholders.
The company's commitment to integrating sustainability throughout its entire global value chain was emphasized by Keelin Evans, Vice President of Sustainability at Macy's Inc. She said, "We expect that more than half of cotton products within our private brand lineup, managed by Macy's sourcing team, will be sustainably sourced by the end of 2023."
The Trust Protocol stands out as the only sustainable cotton initiative that combines quantifiable sustainability goals with a steadfast dedication to encouraging continuous development in six crucial sustainability metrics: land use, soil carbon, water management, soil loss, greenhouse gas emissions, and energy efficiency.
Now that sustainability measures from Field to Market's Fieldprint Platform have been incorporated into the program, participating growers can evaluate the environmental effect of their operations and find potential for future improvements.
