The Made in Bangladesh brand is slowly gaining favor with brands and retailers, demonstrating that the sector's efforts are having an impact. According to a newly released research, Bangladesh is the nation among those that manufacture clothing that is considered to be the most competitive in terms of product value.
Faruque Hassan, president of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA), made these remarks yesterday at the opening of Sports Group Denmark's liaison office in Dhaka. Bjarne Jeppesen, CEO of Sports Group Denmark, Heidi Langergaard Kroer, Manager of Supply Chain, and Jan Rossel, Manager of Sourcing and Country, all attended the occasion.
Faruque Hassan stated that "garment factories in Bangladesh are making considerable efforts and investments to maintain workplace safety, as well as to increase production capacity, especially to make more complex and high-value garments, and to achieve more progress in environmental sustainability."
"Export market diversification, complex and high-value garment production, and value addition are among the key strategies to achieve sustainable growth of Bangladesh's garment industry," the BGMEA President added in his speech. In order to stay competitive, the clothing sector in Bangladesh is spending more and more in technology and innovation.
He asked foreign purchasers, such as the sports organization Denmark, to expand their purchases of clothing, particularly expensive clothing, from Bangladesh. In order to achieve mutually beneficial results, he also urged them to search for methods to strengthen their relationships with their suppliers.
